Get to Know the Founder

My name is Tunik Harrell-Lewis, and I am married to Dr. Miquel A. Lewis; we celebrated our marriage in 1999 after a three-year courtship. We are devoted to our faith in the one true and living God and are proud parents in our loving Christian home, raising three children: Diamond, who graduated with a Master’s degree from Clark Atlanta; Starr, a Spelman graduate now teaching second grade; and Skyy, a sophomore at Spelman.

I began my in-home childcare journey in 1998 in the Austin/Oak Park area of Chicago, driven by a desire to run my own business and my passion for early childhood education. A home-based childcare service was the ideal way to provide quality care in a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment. My aim is to offer the same standards, morals, and excellent education that I would expect for my own children.

I hold a degree in early childhood education from Northeastern Illinois University, which serves as the foundation for the care I provide. I believe that everyone has a specific purpose in life, and caring for children is mine. I take great joy in developing and maintaining close relationships with the children in my care and their families.
